For as long as Maria can remember she has had a love of all thing’s hair, makeup and esthetics. Its
something that has always come easy to her, so she wrapped herself up in her passion and embarked on
a career that has spanned over 30 years in the beauty industry. Having worked for Lise Watier as a
district sales manager she gathered greater experience and created her own makeup line called MBS. In
2007 she opened her own salon in north London branded after herself, Maria Bikas Salon. MBS has
been in operation for 15 years.
Celebrating people in their real, most raw, authentic brilliance is what motivates her and her staff in
creating flawless designs. Maria believes in investing in her staff through countless hours of training.
This ensures that her staff is up to date with the most current trends and techniques. Her artistic reach
has expanded well beyond the salon and supporting local charities within her community. Her mantra
has always been to “create and inspire” and its something she focuses on while creating her signature
styles.
Maria’s creativity comes from her heart and expands outside of the salon to her enjoyment of music and
singing. Having been raised in a Greek Canadian family her love of cooking also expands across multiple
cultures and ethnic dishes, all of which is enjoyed by her beautiful family.
Maria’s passion for artistry is sprinkled throughout her life and can be seen as she’s spreading love
through hair, one head at a time.
Athena Bikas is a second-generation hairstylist, having grown up in her mother’s salon business, MBS. Athena recalls, from the age of 12 coming into the salon colouring, highlighting, and practicing hair cutting on mannequins. Over the years Athena had the opportunity to learn and support all facets of the business, her fondest memories are some of the great friendships she has built with clients over the years.
Focused on a career in Criminology and Sociology, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2022. However, another career path quickly emerged, and she decided to pursue her true passion in the beauty world, following in the steps of her mom.
Education and learning are another passion of Athena’s, she received her lash extension certificate in 2018. And as an exclusive Halo-Couture salon, Athena quickly became the resident expert of this product supporting countless women in the city and across Ontario. Leveraging her creativity and skills in highlighting, colouring, and barbering, she has created transformational styles.
Athena’s formal education has equipped her to expand her expertise into the management and operations of the salon. Providing the most optimal client experience and service is our goal for each client that enters MBS. Outside of the salon you will find Athena spending time with her loved ones, hanging out with friends, enjoying singing lessons and music as well as exploring new destinations!
Creative, versatile, and passionate about her craft, Tina Baeyens is a former corporate executive who had worked for a U.S Digital Marketing company for over 17 years. Building a culture through trust with authenticity, that helps companies deliver wow experiences, so they can increase revenue and reduce costs is a core competency of hers.
Tina’s extensive knowledge in outsourced vendor management and contact center /BPO industry to build strategy and sustain a high-performing and engaged organization culture is sprinkled through her successful career progression. Supporting teams of over 1500 employees across Canada, the U.S.A, Mexico, and India.
As a client of Maria’s and the salon for over 12 years, Tina was happy to be in a position to be able to champion the business and her cousin, Maria. Bringing her talents to MBS, and supporting the operations through team work, and delivering client satisfaction is the most valuable principle.
Tina has been instrumental and responsible for overseeing several elements of the business, including human resource functions, forecasting, budgeting, marketing and social media. Management of the operations includes inventory control, product sales, system software support and implementing a performance management and coaching program that drives employee satisfaction.

Our apprentices are all working towards completing their apprentice hours to become licensed stylists. These girls are able to work with multiple stylists on the team, learning each one’s unique techniques and morphing those into their own style!
A hairstylist and educator that focuses on precision and effortless beauty. Anh balances her time teaching her craft and always eager to try out new innovative techniques, with a bit of storytelling. When Anh is not creating, she enjoys spending time traveling, listening to podcasts, reading and spending quality time with family and friends.
Bringing her talents from Brazil, Andressa specializes in smoothing treatments, balayage and highlights. Her hobbies include listening to music, dancing and spending time with her husband playing video games and chilling.
Heidi loves effortlessly cool hair. Straight razor, carved shags, mullet, bobs and all types of fringes. She specializes in blonde bombshells, balayage and colour. Heidi’s career has also led her to sharing her passion through education at Fanshawe college. When Heidi is not working you can find her chilling in her home with her love of life and cats.
A professional stylist and a fun-loving blonde herself who specializes in blondes, balayage and cuts. When Lindsay is not at work you will find her spending time with her family, enjoying play dates with her daughter or training her dogs.
An artistic stylist and a resident caramel expert, Melissa's specialities include baby lights, balayage and loves to create warm caramel colour tones. Her creativity spills into her passion of painting with acrylics, listening to music and reading..
Hi, I'm Nathalie! When I'm in the salon, I love creating gorgeous looks with highlights and long-layer cuts, helping my clients feel their absolute best. Outside of work, you'll often find me by the water no matter the season—it's my happy place! I also enjoy spending quality time with my friends and family, traveling to different parts of the United States, and seeking out fun, adventurous experiences. Whether I'm behind the chair or out exploring, I'm always looking for ways to bring a little more joy and beauty into life!
Hi, I'm Tyra! In the salon, my passion is creating stunning looks with balayage's, blondes, and long-layered haircuts—| love helping my clients feel confident and radiant. When I'm not behind the chair, I enjoy traveling to warm, sunny destinations, spending quality time with my family and friends, shopping for the latest finds, and exploring new and exciting food experiences. Whether I'm at work or out adventuring, I'm all about embracing beauty, connection, and a little bit of fun in everything I do!
Hi, I'm Romana! In the salon, l'm passionate about enhancing my clients' natural beauty, specializing in natural highlights that bring out their best features. Outside of work, I love spending time with my friends and family, creating memories and sharing laughs. I also enjoy expressing my creativity through crafting-it's one of my favorite ways to unwind and explore new ideas.
